Pengaruh Intensitas Penggunaan Media Sosial Tiktok terhadap Komunikasi Sosial Siswa di SDI Al-Falah 04 Jakarta Barat

Abstract

This study was motivated by the increasing use of the social media platform TikTok among elementary school students, which has the potential to influence their social communication. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of TikTok on the social communication of fifth-grade students at SDI Al-Falah 04 in West Jakarta. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The study population consisted of 50 students (VA and VB), and the entire population was used as the study sample. Data analysis techniques included normality tests, linearity tests, simple linear regression tests, t-tests, and the coefficient of determination, all based on questionnaire data. The results of this study indicate that the use of the social media platform TikTok influences students’ social communication skills, as evidenced by the t-test results with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The regression equation obtained is Y = 30.982 + 0.836X. The coefficient of determination of 27.3% indicates that the social media platform TikTok contributes 27.3% to students’ social communication, while 72.7% is influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. This research serves as valuable input for teachers in supporting the development of students’ social communication skills.
